Same old food...

Lunch: roast potato, Cheddar slices, tomato quarters and mango chunks. All eaten like it's going out of fashion. Phoebe was impressed enough to actually eat a tomato herself, which is a very rare event.

Dinner: avocado, cream cheese on toast. Toast still a bit gaggy so will leave it another week. He liked it though :)

Hi, I have been reading your blog after searching for info about BLW- with not a huge amount of success like you said. We have a 8 month old boy who has been relatively slow on the uptake of solids- partly his part and ours as I believe breast milk is offering the best nutrition for the first 12 months but we are introducing various textures etc for him to develop. I have been I must admit a little paranoid about the choking thing which has come in the way but am working through this and feeling a lot more confident with it all now. I have found your blog useful and have made a little list of things we could start trying over the next few weeks and will let you know how it all works out. The first thing we are going to do is to go and buy a smock for eating times, bibs just don't cut it when you are encouraging self feeding!
Thanks and keep posting!

PS- We live in Adelaide so was nice to read an Australian blogger's ideas.

Glad it's helpful :)

I think it's normal to be paranoid about choking - I was - but it does wear off.

I'm delighted at how well Rafael has taken to food. My daughter, who was formula-fed, ate almost nothing at all until at least 9 months. In fact, she ate almost nothing until she was 2! Stick with it; Jude will get there when he's ready.

Ps I'm actually British not Australian.
