First Birthday.

How has a whole year passed already? We're having a lovely time celebrating Millie's birthday. This is a photo from her birthday lunch yesterday - yes she is trying to use chopsticks!

Happy Days,

Happy birthday! I am so happy I found your blog. My 10 month old daughter who is exclusively breastfed, seems to not want to eat. She nurses no problem and even took some home cooked baby food as well as jar food when she was younger. Now, for some reason she refuses to eat anything with a spoon that I try to feed her. Instead she likes to feed herself but does not eat enough. In my opinion she is small for her age. So, I had just told my hubby that I am going to start feeding her finger food that she could feed herself so that she can gain some weight. I didn't know there was a name for this way of weening a baby to normal food. Your blog gave me some great ideas on what to feed her. I will be going to the store tomorrow to get some of the things you fed your son. I do have a question. Where do you find rice cakes for babies?

Thanks for the good info...

Artenza,

Hey, I can really empathise with how worried you are about your daughter's weight. Both Mel and I had babies with low weight issues (before solid food).

I buy Organix rice cakes (this is a UK brand - are you in the UK?). Essentially, if you bought normal rice cakes they could have them so long as they are 100% rice with no added salt.

I hope you two are enjoying finger foods. If you want to ask any more questions or vent feel free to email me (click on my profile link and then click email).
