Heathcotes

Sunday 13th May

Another funny old food day here! Breakfast started badly with mango being thrown straight onto the floor, along with any other offerings except bread!

After swimming we went for a yummy lunch to Heathcotes, which is so baby friendly! George ate bread! We ordered him whitby bay cod in batter and home made chips, and he ate a bit of batter and about half a chip! He was throwing handfuls onto the floor!

He was very fussy with supper too, and ate not a great deal. He was offered the remains of the mango, half a banana and last nights butternut squash. From the hrumphing coming from the kitchen I gather he ate little more than the banana.

Hope he isn't sickening for something.

i think its the season for eating bread and throwing everything else on the floor in the baby world! My lo is doing the same thing and it's driving me up the wall! she is eating so little at the mo. I think she is def teething finally -cranky, hot cheeks, frequent soiled nappy etc).

What type of bread do you ladies feed the wee ones? Also am I the only one that has issues trying to cut up a mango? Lane LOVES them, but you don't seem to get much off when you try tocut them up. Anyway! Darbi

'Lane's mummy',

i give organic whitebread to my lo or the 400g warburtons bread as the slices are smaller than the 800g pack and less wastage.

re mango, have you tried peeling it with potatoe peeler and then cut against the stone (iukwim) and then just dice/slice as you wish. You should only peel a thin layer off the skin. Or you can just peel it off like with your hands. or you can just leave the skin on, wash the mango and just slice it into wedges size for your lo. Your lo will just lick/suck the flesh of the skin.

Mel will probably tell you about the mango slicer from Lakeland.

rubbishy old sliced warbutrons mostly - but with some fresh bread when we can. Usually white though.

Cannot recommend the mango splitter highly enough, but not sure if lakeland ship to the US - might be worth looking though - invaluable really imho.
