Pitta & Mini Pizza

Friday 16th March

Breakfast was a banana and 2 pears! This is getting silly now!

Lunch was 2 mini-pittas with hummus and a handful of cherry tomatoes.

I am defrosting some of my home-made baby pizzas for supper and I have a cored apple stuffed with sultanas to bake for dinner. I am writing this in advance of dinner to take advantage of the interweb access - bloody stupid laptop!

Hi Mel,
Thanks for the info. Was going to try BLW on Saturday but too excited so started today (Friday) with the only suitable food in hse (normally shop on weekends)which were toast, banana, carrots and dried apricot; Bub was so happy that i allowed her to hold the banana herself she was positvely hyperventilating, bless her!and rewarded me by gobbling the whole thing. She ate everything but spat out most of the carrots but will try again tomorrow. Must get a highchair though as it does get messy! I'm thinking of getting the wooden one in Argos but do you think bub would slide around and/or bash her head in it?
ps i think Baby G's a couple of months older than Bub(dob 08.08.06); have you bothered buying a bath seat for him or is G happy to sit in big bath as it is? Just wondering if worthwhile buying one that all as i've bought quite a few items which seemed a good idea at the time but now just gathering dust and taking up space.... Luv Yiuyiu x

Hi Yiuyiu

Like you I am very weary about buying too many gadgets for my LO's as they I don't have the space. I brought a booster seat from Mothercare - from 6months and this will last until my LO is 4 yrs old. It's fab. Here's the link

Re the bath, Ive brought one of those fabric bath support which again is fab, and I tend to bath my Lo in the main bath. Here is the link for this;

Mel, sorry for gate-crashing, but couldn't help being helpful!

Hi Yiuyiu

My LO is 7 & ½ months and we are doing BLW is well (since about 28 weeks). She is making progress, would have made more if I didn't break the rules and help her initially. So I really control myself now and resist the temptation to help her and she is making so much more progress. She is eating her breakfast as I write and can you believe it I turned around to see why she was whining and noticed that there was no more food on her plate! When I topped it up with more blueberries, she was fine ok! Can you believe that!! WOW!

So I wouldn't advise any helping your LO to eat her food! Maybe helping her hold some slippery food would be ok. But def. no hand feeding!!

I think Mel will be ok about us sharing ideas and tips - it's relevant to BLW babies - am I correct to be so presumptuous Mel? Hope your laptop is back in order soon!

She is doing it again as she has finished. Gotta go and top up again!

Hi Jeasmin/Mel,
Maya (aka Bubsy!) is also 7 1/2 months old and we weaned at 24 weeks, though she was probably ready a few weeks before that. We were running late today so tried to feed her some jar food we had from before whilst we cooked some veg for her and she absolutely refused to be fed! (we still hadnt got ahigh chair so was trying to save the sofa)
I'm hoping not having to go back to work until bub is a year old as i went back full time when my first was only 5 months old and felt i missed out alot.I'm not looking forward to it though as i'm getting used to staying at home making veggie 'chips' and fruit salad!

Hi Girls,

yes i will post the mini-pizza recipe, but be warned it is seriously easy. (I make them for christmas nibbles too!!)

George has a wooden highchair, and it is great. He likes to chew the side of it, but he sits very well in it. I do hve cushions for it, but they got so messy I got fed up washing them! I my dig them out gain soon.

As for a bth set, never had one. We had bby bth cleverly hidden under the chnge mt on our change station when George was tiny, but we just used the big bath as it comes. He loves to slide around, but be warned, once they strt stnding - they do it in the bath too! George has the bruised forehead to prove what a bad idea it was!
